A Wonderful Surprise!

Normally, Royal Suites residents are busy with group activities and plenty of shows. In order to keep our residents safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to close our doors to only essential employees. We continued to have activities for our residents to complete in their rooms, but they really missed the concerts and shows.

We would never want to deprive our residents of the bliss that is listening to music, which is why we took a creative approach to giving them what they wanted while also keeping them safe.

We held an outdoor concert where, Laura, the artist was outside facing our residential rooms as they played. Our residents were able to stay in their rooms and hear the sweet music and beautiful voice of our entertainer. Thank  you Serenity Hospice for sending your music therapist, Laura Cardona, to help us make our residents smile!

Royal Suites is a large facility ad clearly a difficult place for Laura to perform and be able to reach all of the residents so we mobilized her by hauling the amplifiers around the buildings on a cart as she played to the residents at their windows. Not only did they enjoy a concert they were serenaded as well! The real pleasure was watching the joy on the resident’s faces through their windows as they applauded Laura and our efforts to bring the music to them!
